Hillview (Garden No 20), see below, was open for the four days of the Main Festival. Rivergum Valley (Garden No 160) was open for the Main Festival.

Rivergum Valley (right) has a Balinese influence, unusual in the South West, but possible in relatively frost-free area. Expanses of lawn, with a range of trees and shrubs with pergolas, water features and statues.

These gardens are in Karri country, which gives the gardens a different feel from the more northerly ones of the central South West of Western Australia. The seasons are a week or so later as it is further south and there is the moderating influence of the Southern Ocean. Thus there are fewer frosts and summer temperatures are not so high. It is a fine horticultural area with green tea, truffles, vineyards, chestnuts and Pink Lady apples amongst its produce.
